Media Arts

"Digital Art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process." Digital Art has also been referred to computer art or multimedia art.  Computer art may involve different types of digital media like illustration, animation, and graphic design.  Digital technology has had an impact on drawing, painting, and other art forms.  The use of digital software allows artists to draw directly on the screen with tablets such as Wacom and Cintiq.  "The techniques of digital art are used extensively by the mainstream media in advertisements, and by film-makers to produce visual effects."
